Garmin Edge® 1060 GPS Bike Computer

Your next ride begins with two words: "Ok, GARMIN"!

The GARMIN Edge® 1060 GPS bike computer complements extensive training and navigation functions with voice control via the integrated microphone. This way you can operate the bike computer by voice command***** and send text and voice messages** via the GARMIN Messenger™ app in connection with your paired smartphone. Your hands stay on the handlebars and your attention on the road. Compared to the Edge® 1050, the bike computer is significantly smaller and lighter with the same display size.

Do you still have an hour until your next appointment to clear your head on the bike? The Edge® 1060 suggests suitable routes for you, taking into account your available time and your bike type. For training with as few interruptions as possible, routes with fewer stops and junctions can be found. Up Ahead shows you selected points along your route including distance, for example cafés, drinking water stations or bike shops. Whether a short break in everyday life, targeted training or an extended discovery tour: The Edge® 1060 supports you in making more of your time on the bike.

Highlights:

• HANDS-FREE VOICE CONTROL*****: With "Ok, GARMIN" you activate the voice control and operate the Edge® 1060 via voice command. This way your hands stay on the handlebars and your attention on the road.
• REVERSE CHARGING******: Using a suitable USB-C cable you can charge other devices with the Edge® 1060.
• IMPROVED NAVIGATION: Receive route suggestions suitable for your available time and your bike type and find routes with fewer stops and junctions. Up Ahead shows you selected points along your route including distance.
• GARMIN MESSENGER™ APP: Stay connected while on the move. Send and receive text and voice messages directly on the Edge® 1060 via the GARMIN Messenger™ app and your paired smartphone.
• BRILLIANT LCD-DISPLAY: The 3.5 inch LCD touch display marks the beginning of a new era on the bike. Thanks to a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, you can read all your data in razor-sharp detail. Compared to the Edge® 1050, the bike computer is significantly smaller and lighter with the same display size.
• LONG BATTERY LIFE***: Despite the LCD display, the Edge 1060 offers a battery life of up to 20 hours in GPS mode. For longer adventures, the energy-saving mode offers a battery life of up to 60 hours.
• COMMUNITY DANGER POINTS**: Share information about dangerous spots with the community and get more tips on potholes or obstacles. Danger zones are also displayed in the Edge® route planner so that routes can be planned more safely in advance. Using voice control*****, you can now also report hazards via voice command.
• GROUPRIDE**: GroupRide makes it easy to organise group rides. Share the route and stay in contact with all participants during the ride, receive accident notifications, compare yourself in leaderboards and win awards. Compare performance data within your group in real time and join an active GroupRide easily as soon as you are nearby.
• COMPETITION TRAINING: With training tips and daily training recommendations, you will always be well prepared for your next competition. You can also view the daily training recommendations for the whole week in the calendar of the GARMIN Connect™ app or on your bike computer. The suggestions adapt to match your performance and recovery as well as the demands of upcoming events.
• INTEGRATED SPEAKER: On the bike, you get voice messages thanks to the built-in speaker and the necessary attention with the integrated bell function.

Train smarter than ever before!

• TRAINING CONDITION*: With indicators like HRV status (heart rate variability), training log and power, you get insights into your overall effort. That way you know whether you are building up your form during training, are in top form or are tired.
• ALTITUDE AND HEAT ACCLIMATISATION*: See how your body adapts to the current altitude or heat. The information is based on your health data.
• CYCLING ABILITY AND ROUTE REQUIREMENTS*: Find out your strengths as a cyclist and compare them to the demands of a route so you can assess what you're up against.
• DAILY SUGGESTED WORKOUTS*: You and your fitness level are taken into account in the daily training suggestions based on your current training load and your VO2max.
• ROUTE PLANNER: With the new route planner, routes can be planned quickly and easily directly on the Edge® – even without a smartphone and internet connection. The filter option in your route library makes it easier to search for routes that have already been planned.
• ROUTING PREFERENCES: Decide for yourself which path you would like to take. Choose between the most popular routes, the fastest route, the fewest possible elevation gain or navigation with few interruptions.
• COURSE PREVIEW: Get an overview of distance, elevation gain, estimated riding time and road surfaces before the tour. Additionally, you can see the proportion of busy roads and the number of reported hazards. • UP AHEAD: See selected points of interest along your route, including distance. Choose for yourself which destinations should be displayed, for example cafés, drinking water points or bike shops.
• TOURING-SPECIFIC MAPS: Find your way around like a local – no matter what bike you're riding. Optimised maps highlight popular roads and trails. What’s more, they offer searchable points of interest.
• TRENDLINE™ POPULARITY MAP: The Trendline™ Popularity Map Overlay uses billions of kilometres of GARMIN Connect™ data to help you find the most popular routes for your activity. You can display the heat map information directly on the map of your bike computer.
• BIKE NAVIGATION: Extensive navigation functions with information on busy, paved or unpaved roads on the pre-installed GARMIN bike map. Lost your way? Thanks to route recalculation on the most popular roads and paths, you can quickly get back on track.
• MAP MANAGER: Don't want to update the map via Garmin Express on your PC? No problem –with the map manager, maps can be easily updated and synchronised via WLAN.

Training and performance:

• REAL-TIME STAMINA*: This endurance function tracks your performance and shows you the energy you have available during your physical activity. This way you can avoid premature exhaustion.
• POWER GUIDE*: Find the optimal power input for your route and its elevation profile to create a power strategy for your route.
• CLIMBPRO – PLAN CLIMBS CLEVERLY: Automatically see the remaining ascent and grade when you’re climbing while following a route or course. This helps you gauge your effort and see how much you have left to suffer. You can even save your climbs for postride review on your device or in the GARMIN Connect™ app.
• OPTIMISED WORKOUT DATA PAGE: Newly designed data pages for workouts and segments display the most important performance data clearly. This allows you to keep track even during intensive training sessions.
• CYCLING DYNAMICS*: Extended cycling data provide insight into performance taking different conditions into account.
• MTB DYNAMICS: With jump analysis, MTB Dynamics offer you all the data you need as an MTB rider to analyse your jumps and downhill rides.
• GRIT® AND FLOW™ METRICS: The Grit® value indicates the difficulty of a trail. The Flow™ gives information about how fluid your riding style is. Based on these values, you can analyse your performance and work on it.
• ENDURO AND DOWNHILL MTB PROFILES: Special activity profiles record the climbs and descents of your tour. The switch between them is detected automatically. In the Enduro profile, you can see the ascent and descent of the run and the entire activity. The downhill profile saves a lap as soon as you have finished your descent and get on the lift or a shuttle.
• 5 HZ GPS RECORDING: In the Enduro and Downhill MTB profiles, the Edge® records your track with five data points per second. This enables more accurate route recording and more precise split times.
• SPLIT TIMES: Set start and time measuring points along a trail and compare your performance based on the split times between the measuring points. This allows you to compare different lines and track your progress.
• TURN-BY-TURN DIRECTIONS: Never get lost with turn-by-turn directions and alerts that notify you of upcoming turns. Arrive at your destination safe and relaxed.
• BACK TO THE START: Get lost or want to start your way back early? With the Tracback® function you can easily find your way back to the starting point.
• INTELLIGENT CATERING ALARMS***: Receive recommendations for carbohydrate and fluid intake during your activity. The data takes into account your current fitness level, the demands of the route as well as the temperature and humidity.
